Earth Day

On Friday, we learned about Earth Day. We celebrate Earth Day every year on April 22. The students learned about the importance of keeping our Earth clean and they learned about what "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle" means. After learning about Earth Day, they created a mobile with three things that they can do to keep our Earth clean.

Math: Data and Graphing

In math this week, we have been working with data. The students have been working on collecting data, graphing the data, and finally comparing and analyzing the data. We have looked at data already given to us. Today, each student was given a bag of jelly beans. They worked on sorting the jelly beans by color, graphing the number of jelly beans for each color, and finally answering some questions based on their own set of data.

They had a lot of fun and they really enjoyed eating their jelly beans! :)

Organisms: Plants and Animals

The students are super excited to start our organism unit at the end of this week.
Last week, we received plants to put in our classroom aquariums and terrariums. We planted moss and tree seedlings in our terrariums. In our aquariums, we planted Ceratophyllum and Myriophyllum. The students discussed why these things would be necessary to be planted in the terrariums and aquariums. We are waiting as patiently as we can for the Bess Beetles, Pill Bugs (roly poly bug), Guppies, and Snails to arrive.
